Spirit Horses

The Horses at the Tank
By Robert Bly

Every breath taken in by the man
Who loves, and the woman who loves,
Goes to fill the water tank
Where the spirit horses drink.

Robert Bly is one of my favorite poets.
He’s been called a “meditative mystic.”
Here he catches, with an image and a few lines, the perennial wisdom about the nature of reality.

Whew, dear Celia, that is powerful, especially the image. I will carry that with me today and I thank you, Love, Judy
